The Ormond NARFE Chapter 2247 presented a sizable check to Leonora Sicula,Chairperson for the Alzheimer's State Fund for NARFE. Bob Wehrli, the President of the Ormond Chapter 2247 made the presentaion and specified that the money was to be used for ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH.
On review of past donations to the Locale organization and the logical arguments for research by Ms. Sicula it was thought that the money could be best used on research.

I am President of the NARFE Ormond Beach Chapter 2247. You may be like me a retired Federal employee. If that is the case, you may also be presently a victim of Social Security Government Pension Offset (GPO) or Social Security Windfall Reduction (WEP). If these don’t apply to you, then at least you are affected by Premium Conversion which causes us to pay more taxes than the currently employed Federal Employees or Employees of the private sectors. The NARFE Ormond Chapter 2247 has a Legislative Officer and an active Service Officer who stand able and willing to represent your interests.
In addition to their individual assistance the Chapter Officers and interested members meet the second Monday of the month at the Ormond Library to discuss the above issues and to take group actions.
If you have any problems regarding OPM or any of the issues listed above I or one of our officers will be more than happy to serve you whether you are a NARFE member or not. As a Chapter we serve all Active and former Federal Employees and their spouses.
The Chapter use to give their Alzheimer's Funds to the Local organization. Why have we changed?
