· Overall mortality with influenza or pneumonia is slightly above the expected

value for the time of year.

Widespread influenza activity is being reported in seven Florida counties. The

  1. “We are targeting school vaccination clinics based on the priority groups established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the population in an area, and the amount of vaccine we have on hand,” said Volusia County Health Department Director Dr. Bonnie Sorensen. “We ask the public to continue to work with us by being patient and only bringing those who are targeted for the vaccine to this clinic.”

The Oct. 31 school vaccination clinic will offer 2,500 doses of the H1N1 nasal spray vaccine and 1,000 doses of the H1N1 injectable vaccine.
